Now, back to the Cruise News Digest.

The collapse of Key Bridge in Baltimore has caused cruise lines to make major changes to their operations out of the area. The cruise lines quickly shifted their sailings to the Port of Norfolk which has also caused Carnival Cruise Line to make a change to their drink package at that port. Cruisers who are sailing with Carnival Cruise Line, who have purchased the unlimited drink package, may not use that package on Day 1 of their cruise. The unlimited drink package does not go into effect until Day 2 at an adjusted rate.

Carnival Luminosa set sail on her Carnival Journeys 31-night transpacific cruise on April 1, 2024. She is sailing from Australia to Seattle with ports of call in Guam, Japan, and Alaska before arriving in Seattle on May 1, 2024. She will then kick off her summer season in Alaska and Canada.

Holland America Line announced her 2025-2026 Caribbean season. The cruise line is adding PortMiami as a homeport and will sail all three of its Pinnacle Class ships–Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Koningsdam–in the Caribbean. Additionally, every Caribbean itinerary will visit the cruise line’s private island, Half Moon Cay.

Royal Caribbean International announced a multi-year partnership to support Make-a-Wish through its “Wishes at Sea” program. The cruise line will support the organization’s fundraising efforts through online and onboard donations, and hosting events like Walk for Wishes 5K, walkathons and auctions. Royal Caribbean International will also provide life-changing memories as they grant wishes around the world.

MSC Cruises announced its newest flagship, MSC World America, would feature 7 distinct districts. The districts–MSC Yacht Club, Family Aventura, Aqua Deck, Zen Area, Galleria, The Terraces, and Promenade–are designed so every guest can create their own vacation adventure.

MSC Cruises is also elevating its food and beverage program to include a new experience featuring some of the world’s most acclaimed bars. The program, World’s Greatest Bars, will be featured on MSC World Europa and MSC Euribia from now through October 2024. Guests will be able to enjoy pop-ups from award-winning bars Paradiso while sailing on MSC Europa and Sips while sailing MSC Euribia.
