For the next few Mondays, we will explore the major Cruise Loyalty Programs with the first being Carnival Cruise Line’s VIFP Loyalty Program. However, that will change at summer’s end and the cruise line will introduce Carnival Rewards.
Juneau, Alaska, is preparing for a fifth cruise ship dock with construction to begin Summer 2027. The Juneau Assembly and Huna Totem Corporation signed the tidelands lease agreement for the development, and Susan Bell of Huna Totem Corp. confirmed the project will be completed in time for the 2028 Alaska cruise season.
Princess Cruises unveiled its most expansive Asia program ever, announcing its 2027 and 2028 Southeast Asia program along with its 2028 Japan program. The season will feature two ships homeporting in Japan, offering 96 departures across 61 itineraries visiting 55 destinations in nine countries.
Holland America Line has announced Holland America Evolution–a new multiyear investment that will be the largest update in the cruise line’s 153-year history. Oosterdam will be the first ship to undergo Evolution and is expected to debut with her updates in the fall of 2027.
Princess Cruises has announced it has signed three new shipbuilding agreements with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy. The three new cruise ships will mark the beginning of an all-new next-generation class of ships for the cruise line, the Voyager Class. The ships are scheduled to be delivered in late 2035, 2038, and 2039.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jewel sailed from the Port of Philadelphia on April 16, 2026, making her the first ship to embark from the port in 15 years with Tony and the lovely Jenny B onboard.
