Carnival Jubilee Completes Her Sea Trials

The Meyer Werft shipyard announced that Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Jubilee successfully completed her sea trials and she will soon be delivered and ready to welcome guests.

Carnival Jubilee’s sea trials were successfully completed on November 14, 2023. They were led by a full team of officers, engineers and technicians over the course of 10 days in the North Sea. Now that Carnival Jubilee has completed her sea trials, she is back at her berth in Eemshaven undergoing finishing details such as artwork, lighting, and flooring, bringing her one step closer to her debut in Galveston, Texas on December 23, 2023.

“Our all-new Carnival Jubilee performed extremely well through each test we put her through this past week. Now shortly, we’ll start cruising and our team is prepared to welcome our guests from Galveston onto this beautiful new ship,” Captain Andrea Catalani said.

Carnival Jubilee will be the first Carnival ship to be built in Germany and the 26th Carnival ship when she officially joins the Carnival fleet on December 4, 2023. She is the third of Carnival’s Excel-class ships following Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration who just completed her first year of service.

Carnival Jubilee proudly bears a Texas Lone Star on her bow paying tribute to her homeport of Galveston, Texas. The ship will feature six zones beginning with Grand Central which is designed to make a grand first impression. She will feature two new zones–Currents and The Shores. Currents will give you views of “immersive digital undersea environments” as well Emeril’s Bistro 717, Dr. Inks, Ph.D., and The Golden Mermaid. When you enter The Shores you will feel you are where the water meets the land. You will find fresh pizza at Coastal Slice, drinks at Marina Bar and sandwiches and hot dogs at Beach Buns.

Guests will want to chill at Summer Landing. Here you will find the best BBQ at Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse, the poolside bar, The Watering Hole, and for our military heroes, the Heroes Tribute Lounge. And who doesn’t want to visit the Lido? The poolside zone features favorites like RedFrog Tiki Bar, Guy’s Burger Joint, and Swirls along with the new Street Eats and Shaq’s latest Big Chicken. The last zone is the Ultimate Playground which encompasses BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, along with Carnival Waterworks and Sport Square.

Carnival Jubilee will sail year-round to Caribbean destinations like Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan.
