Carnival Cruise Line Reveals New Look for Australian-Based Ships

Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure will soon begin sailing as part of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. Not only will they change their names to Carnival Encounter and Carnival Adventure, but they also will undergo a two-week wet dock updating their appearance and features.

The cruise line has updated its website showcasing the new design of these Grand-class ships. The ships will not sport the traditional blue like the rest of the fleet. Instead, Carnival Encounter and Carnival Adventure will look similar to Carnival Splendor, another Australian-based ship which was given a brand new look during its August 2024 dry dock.

Carnival Encounter looks to showcase a white hull with a red strip, while Carnival Adventure has white hull with a blue or turquoise accent. Like Carnival Splendor, both ships display a stylized swoop and stars which represent the Southern Cross appearing on the Australian national flag.

Guests will find a blending of the energy of Carnival’s “Fun Ship” with the charm of P&O Cruises Australia onboard the newly rebranded ships. Classics like a Fun Squad and theme nights such as the Glow Party and White-Hot Night will be blended with popular entertainment like the Blanc de Blanc show. Favorite dining venues like Luke’s Bar & Grill, Angelo’s, and Dragon Lady will remain as will the Edge Aventure Park.

Carnival’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kara Glamore, said, “This transition presents a unique opportunity to combine the best of P&O Cruises Australia and Carnival Cruise Line as the brand expands its footprint in Australia.”

When Carnival Encounter and Carnival Adventure begin sailing at the end of the month, it will mark a new beginning for Carnival Cruise Line in Australia. On March 29, 2025, both ships will resume service with their new liveries and names. Carnival Encounter will return to her previous home of Brisbane, and Carnival Adventure will begin homeporting in Sydney alongside Carnival Splendor
