Carnival Cruise Line Increases Prices and Some Good News too

Carnival Cruise Line has been increasing prices for its onboard services and products and they have announced another one that is making cruisers unhappy.

The most recent price increase is a hefty one. A 12-pack of water has more than doubled in price from $4.95 to $9.95.

Carnival has been making many price changes for their services. They have implemented a surcharge in the main dining room, stopped 24 hour ice cream and more.

Some guests seem to be more upset about how the water increase has been handled. Carnival typically had a grace period for purchasing items at the original price once a price increase was announced, but not with the water. The new water pricing was implemented with no prior warning ensuring that guests will be paying full price.

Is this a huge deal or a deal breaker to cruise with Carnival? Probably not. There are other options for water on the ship if needed. But, this price change is not likely to be well received.

In other Carnival news, Forbes has named Carnival Corporation one of the World’s Top Female Friendly Companies of 2022 for the second year in a row.

Along with that honor, Carnival Corporation earned awards for World’s Best Employers of 2022 and Best Employers for Diversity for 2022.

Bettina Deynes, Carnival Corporation’s Global Chief Human Resources Officer, made this statement, “We are proud to be named alongside other distinguished organizations that are champions for the support of women leaders, and we applaud all of the collective efforts being made globally to accelerate inclusion and diversity in the workplace.”

She then added, “We are focused on promoting diversity equity, and inclusion at all levels of organization, and we are honored to once again, be recognized by Forbes, as it underscores our commitment to foster a positive and inclusive workplace that supports our talented and diverse employees while providing equal opportunity, and a strong sense of belonging for all.”

They also earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index name the company as the Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality for the sixth year and also honored as one of the best places to work for Latinos by Latino Leaders Magazine.

With Carnival Corporation being the world’s largest cruise line, these accolades are a real accomplishment and something of which to be proud.
