Carnival Cruise Line Announces Carnival Venezia Leadership Team

Carnival Cruise has announced the senior officers and lead entertainment members for its newest ship, Carnival Venezia. 

Captain Claudio Cupisti, Chief Engineer Cesare Boldrini and Hotel Director Karl Hallberg have been appointed as the ship’s senior officers while Entertainment Director Milena Krivokapic and Cruise Director Marques “MarQ” Matthias will bring the Carnival fun on board the fleet’s 25th ship.

“As we continue to grow our operations, it’s key for us to build strong teams who can ensure the success of our new ships and their crew members. We’re fortunate to have some of the most experienced mariners in the cruise industry coming together to make Carnival Venezia feel right at home, for our guests, as part of the Carnival fleet,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Captain Claudio Cupisti is originally from Italy and began working for Carnival in 1989. He has worked on 20 Carnival ships and bring 34 years of Carnival experience to the helm of Carnival Venezia. 

Chief Engineer Cesare Boldrini started with Carnival in 1995 and has led several engineering teams since 2011. He too is originally from Italy and has worked on numerous Carnival ships.  

Hotel Director Karl Hallberg is from Sweden and has served as hotel director on 10 Carnival ships since he began in 2017. 

Entertainment Director Milena Krivokapic began her career with Carnival in 2015 as a photo host in the photo department. She has been a part of the Carnival Vista team but most recently led

Cruise Director Marques “MarQ” Matthias took his first cruise in 2015 and fell in love with Carnival Cruise Line. He joined the Fun Squad later that year and was part of Carnival Vista’s inaugural team. He became a cruise director in 2016 and has led the fun on several Carnival ships since that time. 

Carnival Venezia is the first Carnival Fun Italian Style ship and can house more than 5,000 guests. She will begin year round itineraries from New York’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal on June 15, 2023 after her Transatlantic crossing during a Carnival Journeys cruise that begins in Barcelona, Spain on May 29, 2023.
