Holland America Line Announces Culinary Ambassador Cruises

Holland America Line has announced new “Culinary Ambassador” cruises in 2025 and 2026. Blending travel and culinary experiences, these cruises or segments of Grand Voyages will feature an event hosted by one of Holland America Line’s Culinary Ambassadors.

During these cruises, a Culinary Ambassador will share their knowledge, techniques and tips. Activities will include live cooking demonstrations, coffee chats, and a reservation-only dinner featuring a curated menu hosted by the chef. Beverage experts will host events as well as a pairing dinner in a specialty restaurant.

“Dining has become an essential part of how people explore the world, and our Culinary Ambassador program allows us to offer something truly special — an experience that goes beyond the plate,” said Michael Stendebach, vice president of food, beverage and rooms division for Holland America Line. “Through the Culinary Ambassador cruises, we can bring some of the world’s most celebrated experts on board to elevate the journey.”

2025 and 2026 Culinary Ambassador Cruises include:

  • Chef David Burke, who enhances the menu at Pinnacle Grill, will be onboard Zuiderdam for a segment of the Voyage of the Vikings cruise sailing from Dublin, Ireland to Reykjaik, Iceland from August 7 to August 12, 2025.
  • Guests will enjoy Bartender Ivy Mix, whose cocktails are featured on cruises to Mexico and South America, during Nieuw Amsterdam’s 7-day roundtrip Baja Peninsula sailing from San Diego from November 15 to November 22, 2025.
  • Master Tea Blender and founder of Art of Tea Steve Schwartz will host a tea tasting experience, a “Rituals of Tea” seminar and an exclusive High Tea with Art of Tea event during Volendam’s 2026 Grand World Voyage. He will be onboard from March 25 to March 30, 2026 from Singapore to Halong Bay, Vietnam.
  • Also onboard during Volendam’s 2026 Grand World Voyage will be Chef Masaharu Morimoto, the cruise line’s Global Fresh Fish Ambassador. Chef Morimoto will be onboard while the ship is in Japan, but the exact dates are still to be announced.
  • Lastly, Chef Ethan Stowell will be onboard Volendam’s 2026 Grand World Voyage from April 29 to May 3, 2026, while the ship is sailing from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California. He will incorporate the flavors of the region using fresh, sustainable sourced seafood.

Stendebach continued, “It’s not just about eating well for our guests — it’s about learning, tasting something new, having fun and perhaps getting some tips to use in their own kitchens.”
