MSC Cruises has announced it is expanding its kids and family programming for the summer 2024 itineraries. The cruise line is offering new entertainment and services for guests of all ages including expanded hours for kids clubs, new family games shows, and more.
Some of the brand new activities include extended services for babies six months and older. Previously, the child-care services were only offered to children 1 year and older. The services are offered in collaboration with Chicco which means staff are trained to care for babies between six months and 2 years.
Also new this summer, MSC Cruises will have designated time slots when all Doremiland areas will be open for families to enjoy together. Additionally, once each cruise there will be a big family party for parents and children to play together.
There are also extended club hours for guests ages 12 to 17. The club will be open and able to be enjoyed from 10am to 1pm and from 3pm to midnight on sea days, and 3pm to midnight on port days. Returning is the popular MSC Dance Crew competition where teams of teenagers battle to win the title of dance crew of the year.
Corporate Senior Manager Kids Entertainment Matteo Mancini said, “We host more than 600,000 children and teenagers across our entire fleet every year, and we want to make sure every single one of them disembarks having had the best experience. That’s why it’s so important for us to continually listen to their feedback and follow entertainment trends. Music, game shows, digital innovation and trained youth staff are the pillars we turned into reality”
New this summer for families are two MSC original family game shows in which children are the stars but can challenge their parents. New for summer 2024 are World Quest, a geography-based trivia game and Caravaggio, a spy game show dedicated to art.
Families can also participate in Guinness World Record activities on select ships. Families will be able to win prizes in record-breaking quizzes aboard MSC World Europa, MSC Euribia, MSC Seascape, MSC Seashore, MSC Magnifica, MSC Divina, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Virtuosa and MSC Grandiosa.
Each day, families can participate in activities offered in collaboration with the MSC Foundation. The exclusive activities held for an hour daily allow children to learn about marine conservation and sustainability initiatives.
Global Head of Entertainment Steve Leatham said, “At the heart of our business is family. We love creating unforgettable memories and holidays for everyone, especially for families. That’s why we proudly offer a fleetwide family programme of entertainment and activities that resonates with our valued guests. As a father of three boys, I know first-hand the incredible job our youth team does on board, not only in entertaining children and families but also in creating moments that can’t be replicated anywhere else”.
Popular favorites returning for the 2024 summer season include the LEGO Experience on Board where kids can express their creativity and become a Junior LEGO Master Builder; Break the Wall game show where a giant technological wall will determine what surprise tests must be performed in front of a jury–the audience, and; Cabin 12006 The Secret Game which is an immersive experience with music, videos, Tik Tok trials, memory games and dance moments around the mysteries of Ocean Cay.
Also returning is MasterChef as Sea Juniors which allows children ages 5-12 to participate in a cooking competition based on the hugely popular MasterChef show. The recipes for MasterChef Juniors are created by Rukmini Iyer, 2013 MasterChef contestant.
Every MSC Cruises ship has five dedicated kids clubs open for families: Baby Club Chicco for ages 6 months to 2 years, Miniclub Lego for ages 3-6 years, Juniors Club Leg for ages 7-11 years, Young Club for ages 12-14 years, and Teens Club for ages 15-17 years. Parents can have peace of mind while onboard knowing their children are being cared for by specially trained crew members.
