Carnival Spirit to Homeport in Mobile, Alabama

Carnival Cruise Line has announced new destinations for Carnival Spirit which is headed to Mobile, Alabama in October 2023.

These new voyages from Mobile include five-, six- and eight-day Caribbean itineraries along with a 12-day Carnival Journeys Southern Caribbean adventure

Fred Stein, Carnival’s vice president of revenue planning and deployment, said, “The sailings we’re opening today offer some great new choices for our guests and build on our plans for the Mobile community, where we’ve enjoyed a long and successful partnership. When Carnival Spirit arrives for her first season this year and then returns for the cruises we’re announcing today for next year, she won’t just be bringing a newer and larger ship experience to the port, she’ll deliver more opportunities to visit beautiful destinations compared to our past operations there.”

These new sailings onboard Carnival Spirit will have a significant economic impact as well as bringing more jobs to the area.

Bradley Byrne, President of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “So the economic impact of this new cruise ship is $12 million overall to the Mobile area. But it’s $6 million directly to the City of Mobile, which helps them pay for what they’ve had to board to build and to modernize the terminal.”

Byrne went on to explain, “Any time we can bring 2,000 new people into mobile every five days, we’re excited about that. If you’ve got more business in your hotel, you got to have more people to help you run the hotel. You got more people coming, your restaurant. You got to have more people to run the restaurant. If you got more people coming to your retail store, you got to have more people at your retail store any time you have that much activity.”
