Holland America Line’s Black Friday booking volumes broke records for the second year in a row. Bookings sold on Black Friday were 20% higher than the cruise line’s 2022 Black Friday sales which also broke records. The period between Black Friday and Cyber Monday also broke the previous year’s record by 23%.
“While some see Black Friday as a sign that winter is coming, our guests were dreaming about exploring summer destinations like Alaska, Iceland and Greece,” said Gus Antorcha, president, Holland America Line. “Breaking Black Friday records two years in a row tells us that not only are guests excited to plan ahead for travel, but that they value Holland America Line’s award-winning service and carefully crafted itineraries that visit more than 100 countries.”
Many guests are planning 2024 summer vacations. Bookings for Alaska, Europe and Canada/New England all exceeded 2022 booking volumes. Holland America Line will have six ships in Alaska and offer the most Glacier Bay permits, the most glacier viewing experiences and the most opportunities to see Alaskan wildlife in the cruise industry. Cruising in the Canada/New England area will offer opportunities to sail to Iceland and Greenland.
Guests booking voyages with Holland America Line will be able to experience the recently announced global fresh fish program. The program includes a global network of 60 ports where the cruise line can source 80 types of fresh fish to serve from port to plate in less than 48 hours. World-renowned Chef Masaharu Morimoto serves as Holland America Line’s “Fresh Fish Ambassador” and brings his signature style to specialty dishes served in the ship’s dining rooms. His curated dishes will also be featured in Morimoto By Sea, a new Asian Cuisine restaurant aboard Nieuw Amsterdam beginning December 16, 2023. The remainder of the fleet will feature a Morimoto By Sea pop-up restaurant by spring of 2024.
