Virgin Voyages Takes Delivery of Resilient Lady

Virgin Voyages, the adults-only cruise line, has taken delivery of Resilient Lady, its third ship since its first ship set sail in February 2020.

Resilient Lady is almost identical to her sister ships, Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. She is 110,000 gross tons and holds 2,770 passengers. Like her sisters, she was built by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente ship in Genoa, Italy.

She will have the same amenities as her sister ships such as the majority of cabins boasting an ocean view and spacious balconies. Resilient Lady will also have the same high-tech features like touchscreen tablets to control the temperature, blinds, television, and more in the stateroom.

As always, all food, non-alcoholic drinks, Wifi, tips, fitness classes, shows, and entertainment are included in the cruise fare.

After completing sea trials in April, Resilient Lady was to begin sailing in August, but supply chain and labor shortages pushed her first voyage back to May 2023.

Resilient Lady is receiving her finishing touches so she can set sail on her “mermaiden” voyage on May 14, 2023. It will be a 7-night roundtrip sailing departing from Athens, Greece. The sailing includes full days in Santorini, Rhodes, and Bodrum, Turkey. There also will be an overnight stay in Mykonos. It will definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime voyage where one can enjoy the beach club parties and nightlife or the Greek Isle’s quiet side.

She will remain in Athens through October and then embark on a 44-night repositioning voyage. She departs on October 22, 2023, and will visit ports in Dubai, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia before porting in Australia for the winter season.

She will remain in Australia and New Zealand until May 2024 when she returns to the Mediterranean for her summer sailings from Athens.
