Virgin Voyages Delays Debut of Brilliant Lady

Virgin Voyages announced the cruise line’s fourth ship, Brilliant Lady, will be delayed in making her debut. Citing supply chain, construction, and staffing issues, the cruise line has canceled all Brilliant Lady cruises between December 2023 and April 2024.

“Despite careful planning, we are facing unexpected construction, supply chain and staffing challenges that have delayed the introduction of Brilliant Lady,” the company said in a statement.

“We want to make sure that when the ship launches, we can deliver the standards our Sailors have come to expect from an award-winning brand like Virgin Voyages.”

Sailors who are booked on Brilliant Lady will be generously compensated and offered exclusive rebooking incentives along with onboard credit once her debut is announced.

“We’ve built a brand that has taken the industry by storm, but even the strongest businesses face unforeseen challenges every now and then,” said Michelle Bentubo, SVP Service Excellence and Travel Operations.

“We are sorry that our Sailors and First Mates who were excited about Brilliant Lady will have to wait a little bit longer for her launch. We know they will love the new itineraries as much as we do, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”

The canceled sailings of Brilliant Lady has also created canceled sailings onboard Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady. Additionally, some of Brilliant Lady’s 2024 winter Caribbean sailings are being shifted to Valiant Lady.

The canceled sailings include Valiant Lady’s Western Caribbean Charm and her Eastern Caribbean Antilles sailings from January 2024 through March 2024, and Resilient Lady’s Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems sailings from July through September 2024, along with her Greek Island Glow sailings from August through October 2024.

Unfortunately, at this time, there is no new launch date for Brilliant Lady.
