Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa, Italy floated out Brilliant Lady for the first time yesterday.
This is an important step in the building of the cruise ship before final phases of construction can begin. It is expected that this fourth and final ship in Virgin Voyages fleet will set sail December 2023.
Brilliant Lady is identical to her sisters, Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady. Each weighs 110,000 gross tons, is 278 meters long and 38 meters wide. They have room for 2,770 passengers in 1400 cabins.
Also, like her sisters, Brilliant Lady will have innovations that reduce vibrations and noise onboard. She will have features such as the ability to control cabin functions like air conditioning, blinds, and entertainment systems from a guest app on their phone. Additionally, she will mirror the environmental features of her sisters such as the use of LED lighting and more to reduce the ships overall environmental impact.
Shipyard workers will now begin completing the interior of the ship. This will include 22 dining options including a steakhouse, vegetarian restaurants, international food markets, and more which are all included in the price of the cruise. Unlike other cruise ships, Virgin Voyages does not include the traditional main dining room or buffet restaurants.
If all goes according to plan, Brilliant Lady will begin her maiden voyage on December 24, 2023 from the Virgin Voyages terminal in PortMiami. It will be a 5-night Brilliant Miami Mermaiden Holidays voyage to include Puerto Plata, St. Croix and San Juan. Beginning December 30, 2023, she will sail from San Juan and offer 7-night cruises in the Southern and Eastern Caribbean.
Virgin Voyages is an award winning adults only vacation with amenities, such as food, essential drinks, Wi-Fi, fitness classes, shows, entertainment and tips, included in the pricing.
