TUI Cruises has announced the name of its second mega-ship in its inTUItion class–Mein Schiff Flow. Traditionally, TUI Cruises has numbered its vessels, but it broke with tradition when it named its first inTUItion class ship Mein Schiff Relax and has given this ninth ship in its fleet a distinct name as well.
Mein Schiff Flow is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and is expected to enter service in 2026. Fincantieri Shipyard is the same shipyard from which Mein Schiff Relax just completed her first set of sea trials.
CEO of TUI Cruises, Wybcke Meier, said, “We are delighted that we can meet the increasing demand for cruises with the Mein Schiff Flow. Our ninth new build is based on the Mein Schiff Relax, which also belongs to the InTUItion class. The eponymous ‘Flow’ is reflected in the entire design of the ship, as well as in the special atmosphere on board, and makes it easy to let go, relax and slow down.”
Mein Schiff Flow will have a 4,000 guest capacity and offer its guests a relaxing space to “go with the flow” and slow down. The ship will have an airy design that promotes tranquility including in its suites and cabins. As the sister to Mein Schiff Relax, many details such as the atrium’s panoramic windows and terraced sun landscape are likely to be replicated.
Meier also noted that with Mein Schiff Flow, TUI Cruises is adding its third ship to the fleet in as many years which represents a 60% increase in its fleet capacity. She said, “This will increase the capacity of the fleet by almost 60 percent. This constant and sustainable expansion is part of our long-term strategy, in particular to serve the growing demand for experience-oriented cruises. The expansion of the fleet not only creates more capacity, but also enables us to reach different target groups and open up new markets.”
TUI Cruises is committed to responsible cruising and sustainable practices as evidenced in the fact that both Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow will be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG), have shore power connections, and improved catalytic converters. The ships are also designed to operate with low-emission bio- and e-LNG, the next step in climate-neutral cruising.
TUI Cruises has not announced Mein Schiff Flow’s maiden voyage for 2026, but Mein Schiff Relax will sail in mid-March 2025 and be christened in Malaga, Spain on April 9, 2025.
