In October, Royal Caribbean Group announced it was making an exciting change to its loyalty program which would allow members to choose how they apply the loyalty points they earn.
On the third quarter earnings call, Jason Liberty, CEO Royal Caribbean Group, announced, “Building on the success of Status Match, I’m excited to announce Points Choice, the next evolution in how guests earn and apply loyalty points across our family of brands. Beginning in early 2026, guests will be able to apply loyalty points to the Royal Caribbean Group brand they prefer, regardless of which brand they are sailing with. This initiative further strengthens the overall value of our loyalty proposition, deepening engagement across our portfolio, and reinforcing our commitment to putting the guest at the center of our orbit.”
In 2024, the company introduced the industry-first Loyalty Status Match program which allowed cruisers who are members of Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society, Celebrity Cruises’ Captain’s Club and Silversea’s Venetian Society to enjoy tier status no matter with which brand they are sailing. Now, the addition of Points Choice, which takes effect on January 30, 2026, allows those members to apply their earned points to any of the brand’s loyalty programs making it easier than ever to explore any Royal Caribbean Group ship or itinerary for the first time.
Here is a quick overview of Points Choice:
- Beginning January 30, 2025, guests can receive a Points Choice Request form on the cruise line’s website or the Royal Caribbean app.
- After disembarkation, guests will have up to 14 days to switch points earned to the loyalty program of their choosing. If guests do not want to switch their points, they simply do nothing.
- Points are still based on cabin category and number of nights sailed.
- The Status Match program is not changing. Guests will still receive one-to-one tier matching across all three Royal Caribbean Group brands: Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea.
