Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Princess Cruises set a new Guinness World Record. While in Cozumel, Mexico, the crew and guests aboard Regal Princess all came together to set the world record for highest number of margaritas sold during an 8-hour window.
Princess Cruises announced the winning count on Facebook, “Raise a glass, we did it! Today, aboard Regal Princess in Cozumel, our guests and crew came together to set a new Guinness World Record for most margaritas sold in an 8 hour period. The official count is 3,410 surpassing the existing record of 2,728. Thousands of Pantalones Organic Tequila margaritas. One unforgettable day. Ritas for the record is officially in the books.”
The margaritas served while in port featured Matthew and Camilla McConaughey’s Pantalone Organic Tequila, a signature drink offered as part of the Love Line Premium Liquors collection on Princess Cruises. The McConaugheys also serve as the godparents of Star Princess, and christened the ship with a bottle of the signature tequila instead of the traditional champagne.
The 3,410 margaritas were sold on the Lido Deck and beat the previous record of 2,728 which was set on September 15, 2025 in Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia at the Motel Mexicola restaurant while celebrating Mexican Independence Day. A Guinness World Record official adjudicator was on hand to certify the accomplishment. Princess Cruises was awarded an official certificate during a presentation onboard Regal Princess.
