Princess Cruises’ Alfredo’s Pizzeria Earns Prestigious Certification

Alfredo’s Pizzeria aboard Princess Cruises’ Sun Princes and Star Princess has been awarded the prestigious Ospitalità Italiana Certification, which is the highest global recognition for authentic Italian cuisine and hospitality, and only awarded to dining establishments that uphold Italy’s rich culinary heritage.

This award, which was appropriately announced on National Pizza Day, further solidifies Princess Cruises’ commitment to bringing genuine Italian flavors to its guests. The pizzeria uses the freshest ingredients in its made-to-order Neapolitan-style pizza which is hand-stretched and baked in a stone Moretti Forni oven using traditional culinary techniques.

“Earning the Ospitalità Italiana Certification is a meaningful validation of our dedication to authentic Italian culinary excellence,” said Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises Vice President of Food and Beverage. “As we celebrate National Pizza Day, we’re proud to recognize this achievement and our partnership with Chef Tony Gemignani to showcase how we bring our guests closer to the tastes, traditions, and hospitality of Italy, one perfectly crafted pizza at a time.”

Princess Cruises is also highlighting its collaboration with 13-time World Pizza Champion, Chef Tony Gemignani, who has crafted five unique pizzas served across the cruise line’s fleet of 17 ships. Each pizza features a dynamic blend of flavors and ingredients–from Soppressata sausage and hot honey to Gorgonzola and sweet fig preserves.

Additionally, USA Today and La Lido Loca’s Tony both declare Princess Cruises’ offers the “Best Pizza at Sea.”
