Port Everglades in Broward County, Florida is making history in 2025 by exceeding its own passenger record and welcomes three brand new cruise ships this month.
The port’s preliminary count shows it welcomed more than 4.7 million passengers during the 2025 Fiscal Year, which began October 1, 2024. Broward County also announced major improvements at Port Everglades that will include a new Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, an expanded convention center and an elevated bypass. The bypass will make travel easier to local businesses and the beach.
The three new ships arriving in Port Everglades this month will be Princess Cruises’ Star Princess, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Xcel, and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny this month. Princess Cruises’ Star Princess will sail her 3-day Maiden Caribbean cruise on Friday, November 7, 2025, joining her sister ship, Sun Princess. She will then begin sailing a variety of itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas through March 2026.
Next, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Xcel will be named at Port Everglades on November 16, 2025. She will then sail a 5-day Bahamas Mexico maiden voyage on November 18, 2025. The Edge-class ship will begin sailing alternating 7-day Bahamas, Mexico Cayman or Puerto Plata, St. Thomas St. Maarten itineraries on November 23, 2025.
Last, Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Destiny will bring the magic of Disney to Port Everglades on November 20, 2025. The Wish-class vessel will embark on a 4-day Maiden Voyage Bahamian Cruise that will call on both Disney Lookout Cay, Lighthouse Point and Disney Castaway Cay. She will then sail 4- or 5-day Bahamian Cruises beginning November 24, 2025.
“Cruising is more popular than ever, and the cruise lines are exceeding guest expectations every time a new ship comes into the marketplace,” said Port Everglades CEO and Port Director Joseph Morris. “The new ships that are coming to Port Everglades have more entertainment and dining options and offer some of the latest technology with greener fuels and impressive connectivity.”
Additionally, 2026 will bring Royal Caribbean’s third Icon-class ship, Legend of the Seas, to the port, making her the largest ship to ever sail from Fort Lauderdale. She will sail a series of 7-night itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
