Are you One in 100 Million?
Debi Crawford and her family boarded Carnival Sunrise at PortMiami and were met by Christine Duffy, the Carnival Cruise Line President, and the ship’s team members, led by Captain Luca Cherchi, welcoming them with fanfare and the announcement that Debi was the “One in 100 Million.”
On March 16, 2023, Carnival Cruise Line reached the milestone of the first cruise line to embark 100 million guests since its first sailing out of PortMiami in 1972.
President Christine Duffy was on board the Carnival Sunshine to make the announcement and thank the guests for making Carnival the world’s most popular cruise line.
“We’re the first cruise line to meet this incredible mark of 100 million guests, and I believe it is a testament to the fun, inclusive atmosphere our valued guests and our extraordinary team members have created together on board our ships for the past 51 years.“
Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador John Heald took to Facebook to express his gratitude by saying, “100 Million. That’s absolutely outstanding to think that since 1972 to 2023, we have had 100 MILLION passengers who became guests sail and have a massive dollop of FUN with us. We are so thankful, so grateful, and so thrilled that you and your families have and continue to sail with CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE.“
Carnival is not anywhere near done either. By spring of 2024, they intend to add three more ships to the fleet, Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Venezia, and Carnival Firenze.
Carnival Celebration, the company’s newest ship, is already wildly popular with guests and the company is preparing to welcome Carnival Venezia to the fleet in May. She will be sailing out of New York and will be bringing “Carnival Fun Italian Style.”
Later this year, Carnival will welcome Carnival Jubilee, sister ship to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, to the family. She will be sailing from Galveston, Texas. Then in 2024, Carnival Firenze will bring “Carnival Fun Italian Style” to the west coast and sail from Long Beach, California.
