Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed new images of its newly revamped Great Stirrup Cay, its private island in the Bahamas.
Along with the multi-ship pier that removes the need to tender to shore, the 268-acre destination has multiple new experiences for cruisers to enjoy. At the heart of the renovations is Great Life Lagoon, a 1.4-acre pool area that features a heated pool–that is larger than two Olympic-sized pools. The beach-style entrance to the pool also leads to Splash Harbor–the splash pad for young guests, while the adults enjoy the two swim-up bars. Around the pool area, guests will find private cabanas featuring stunning ocean views. Adults can purchase an all-day pass to the Vibe Shore Club with its own cabanas and bar. Finally, the new Welcome Center and tram system make getting around the island even better.

“Great Stirrup Cay has always been a favorite for our guests, and these new enhancements make it even easier for guests to trade the winter weather for the warm tropics and enjoy an ‘Escape to the Great Life,'” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “With the fun versatility of Great Life Lagoon, and family-friendly spots like Splash Harbor, we’ve created an island where everyone can unwind, play and make lasting memories. This transformation is all about offering premium experiences and unparalleled guest services to our guests and giving them the freedom and flexibility to enjoy their vacation their way. I cannot wait until next summer when we unveil even greater guest experiences with Great Tides Waterpark.”
Still to come this summer 2026 is the destination’s Great Tides Waterpark. The attraction will be home to the 170-foot Tidal Tower featuring 8 of the park’s 19 waterslides. The waterslides will range from adrenaline-pumping to laid-back to tube slides to racing slides–all unforgettable. There will be an 800-foot river, a 9,000 square-foot splash zone for kids, and the industry’s first cliff-jumping experience in Cliffside Cove.
Norwegian Cruise Line is expecting to welcome 17 ships carrying more than one million guests to Great Stirrup Cay in 2026.
