Norwegian Cruise Line Holding Orders 3 New Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has announced an agreement with Fincantieri for three new ships. The Italian shipbuilder will design and construct one ship for each of NCLH’s award-winning brands–Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises–to be delivered between 2036 and 2037.

The order includes a fifth ship in the previously announced, but still unnamed, new Norwegian Cruise Line class to debut in 2030. Norwegian Cruise Line’s new class will be the largest vessels ever built for NCL accommodating more than 8,300 passengers and crew. Also coming is a sister ship to Seven Seas Prestige, and a sister ship to Oceania Sonata, which are vessels in new classes that will debut in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

“Together with Fincantieri, a trusted partner for decades, we continue to advance a disciplined approach to fleet growth that builds on the strength of our brands, defines the future of cruising and elevates the guest experience for years to come,” said John W. Chidsey, President and Chief Executive Officer of NCLH. “This agreement secures access to valuable shipyard capacity through the end of 2037, supporting our long-term growth while maintaining financial discipline and driving sustainable shareholder value.”

Adding another ship to each of NCLH’s brands further solidifies the Company’s commitment to growth across the industry with an appeal to all cruisers, from the megaship to the luxury experience. This announcement of three new ships means NCLH now has a total of 17 newbuilds on order with delivery dates between 2026 and 2037.
