Norwegian Cruise Line Announces “Giving Joy” Winners

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the winners of the fourth annual “Giving Joy” contest. The contest celebrates extraordinary teachers across North America who are dedicated to bringing joy into the lives of their students every day.

Each of the 20 winners received a free seven-day cruise for two aboard a Norwegian Cruise ship sailing from now through 2024.

The three grand prize winners have been invited to attend the exclusive four-day christening voyage of Norwegian Viva from Miami in November. During the ceremony, the winners will enjoy performances by Norwegian Viva godfather and five-time Latin Grammy award winner, Luis Fonsi.

“On behalf of all of us at Norwegian Cruise Line, we congratulate this year’s winners and nominees who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to their calling as educators, and in doing so have left a lasting positive impact on their students, schools and broader communities,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We look forward to welcoming this year’s winners aboard for a well-deserved cruise vacation.”

There were over 3,000 contestants from all over the United States. The three grand prize winners are Ryan Price from Collegiate Charter Academy in Vacaville, California; Carolyn Reardon from James Otis Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois; and Angelo Mirante from Lakewood High School in Arlington, Washington.  The other winners hailed from Florida, Ohio, California, Virginia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Tennessee,

Coca-Cola has collaborated with Norwegian Cruise Line to donate round trip airfare to each winner and their guest. Additionally, each winner and their guest will receive a free virtual training session from the Guy Harvey Foundation, the ocean conservation group based in South Florida.

Since the program began four years ago, Norwegian’s “Giving Joy” contest, along with brand partners, has recognized over 250 educators and donated over $350,000 to local schools.
