Norwegian Aqua Sailing From Port Canaveral

Norwegian Cruise Line’s brand new Prima Plus Class Norwegian Aqua is officially sailing from her homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida. She set sail on Saturday, April 26, 2025, for a series of round trip Caribbean voyages.

Norwegian Aqua will sail 7-day Eastern Caribbean voyages through August 2025. She will visit Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay. Great Stirrup Cay is currently being enhanced to add an oversized heated pool, a family splash zone, a swim-up bar and a multi-ship pier.

“We are so thrilled to have Norwegian Aqua homeport in Port Canaveral for her inaugural season of Caribbean voyages,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.  “Port Canaveral is an attractive cruise destination with a variety of attractions in the surrounding area for guests to extend their cruise vacation, and easy access by plane, train or automobile.  Launching just in time for summer, Norwegian Aqua is designed to offer fun-in-the-sun voyages year-round with outdoor activities for guests looking for thrills, or who simply want to chill. We’re excited to have her begin her cruise journey with our partners at Port Canaveral!”

Norwegian Aqua showcases many “firsts” in cruising. The world’s first hybrid waterslide and roller coaster, The Aqua Slidecoaster; a brand new Glow Court with its interactive LED floor; and the new Aqua Game Zone bringing generations together through gaming. The entertainment features “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” which is already receiving rave reviews, and an enhanced version of NCL’s “Elements: The World Expanded.”

“We have a great partnership with NCL and are excited to welcome Norwegian Aqua to our homeport fleet,” said Captain John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO.  “Port Canaveral is the ideal homeport for this new Prima-Plus class ship, especially with more guests driving in to take advantage of our easy in/easy out access. Our team looks forward to providing NCL’s guests with the customer-focused experience that has made our Port a cruise industry leader.”

With a 10% increase in size over the cruise line’s Prima class ships, Norwegian Aqua offers something for everyone. From its 17 dining venues and 18 bars and lounges to its newly expanded pool deck and adults-only Vibe Beach Club, guests will find even MORE.
