MSC Cruises’ Poesia entered dry dock at Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta to undergo major enhancements. The renovation will last about six weeks and introduce new premium spaces and experiences before she begins her debut season in Alaska in May 2026.
MSC Magnifica was the first of the cruise line’s Musica Class to undergo a major refurbishment at the Maltese shipyard. She was completed in December and is sailing the 2026 MSC World Cruise. MSC Poesia will feature the cruise line’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept, the MSC Yacht Club, featuring 69 suites, 24-hour butler service and various other private amenities.
MSC Poesia will also receive two new specialty restaurants: Butcher’s Cut, an authentic American steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar featuring authentic Asian specialities. Other enhancements will include a new MSC Aurea Spay and MSC Gym, a Gentleman’s Barber, workout studios, an outdoor Aurea space and Top 15 Exclusive Solarium.
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, said, “This major refurbishment of MSC Poesia reflects our continued efforts and commitment to investing in our fleet and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This refurbishment showcases MSC Cruises’ commitment to offering guests the best possible experience and modern amenities. We are proud to bring the addition of the MSC Yacht Club, new dining concepts and more to MSC Poesia and to offer guests more choice and more comfort than ever before, ahead of the ship’s Alaska season.”
MSC Poesia’s first voyage following her dry dock will be a 35-night Panama Canal voyage from Rome to Seattle and embark on April 6, 2026. Once homeported in Seattle, she will sail 7-night itineraries to some of the region’s most iconic destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, scenic cruising in Tracy Arm, and more. This will be MSC Cruises first season in Alaska.
