MSC Group Moving to Downtown Miami

MSC Group, the parent company of MSC Cargo, MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys, and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council have announced the development of MSC Group’s new home in Downtown Miami. The MSC Group’s $100-million state-of-the-art facility in Miami will bring approximately 250 South Florida team members from all three sister companies under one roof.

The 130,00 square foot office space located at Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk is just two miles from Port Miami and will support the growth of MSC Cruises, the newly launched Explora Journeys, and the cargo and container shipping division MSC Cargo. Over the next three years, this development is expected to generate 668 direct and indirect jobs and provide $62.5 million annually in recurring direct economic impact.

Additionally, MSC Cruises is building a new cruise terminal at PortMiami further establishing Miami as its new home. The new cruise terminal will feature a four-story building able to accommodate 36,000 passenger movements daily along with three large cruise ships at once. Once completed it will be the largest cruise terminal in North America

“This is an exciting time of growth for the Cruise Division and we are happy to call Miami-Dade our new home as we continue to expand our reach throughout the Caribbean and North America,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises. “We look forward to bringing more jobs to the local economy and will work with Miami-Dade County to ensure we are a leader in making an important impact in the community.”

“This announcement underscores Miami’s status as a world-class destination and premier access point for companies seeking to extend their influence throughout the continent and the Caribbean,” said Rodrick T. Miller President and CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. “Miami-Dade provides an ideal backdrop for a distinguished brand like MSC Cruises, celebrated for its contemporary offerings and international flair. With our diverse and skilled workforce, coupled with a top-tier cruise port, Miami warmly embraces MSC Cruises. We are thrilled to support and champion their expansion in the region.”

MSC Cruises currently has several ships deployed in the North American cruise market. MSC Meraviglia sails year-round from New York, MSC Magnifica and MSC Divina sail from Miami, and MSC Seashore sails from Port Canaveral. Beginning November 2024, MSC Seaside and MSC Seascape will sail from Miami while MSC World America will sail from Miami in 2025.
