MSC Cruises to Sail in Alaska for Second Time in 2027

MSC Cruises will sail in Alaska for the first time in 2026 when MSC Poesia begins cruising from Seattle in April. However, before MSC Poesia begins her 2026 Alaska summer season, she will receive one of the largest upgrades in MSC Cruises’ history. Guests who sail during MSC Cruises’ inaugural Alaska season will enjoy a new MSC Yacht Club, two specialty restaurants, Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, All-Stars Sports Bar, a refreshed MSC Aurea Spa and an upgraded MSC Gym.

Lynn Torrent, President, MSC Cruises North America, said, “People from all over the world want to see Alaska and an MSC Cruise is the best way to do it, especially now that every Alaska sailing will feature our award-winning MSC Yacht Club, new specialty restaurants and upgraded wellness offerings. Demand for Alaska cruises is strong and adding another season in the region is a direct response to the feedback we’re getting from guests and our travel advisors. We know they’ll love the European style and American comfort available aboard MSC Poesia.”

Now, the cruise line has announced bookings for MSC Poesia are open as she returns to Alaska for a second season in 2027. The vessel will depart Miami on April 8, 2027 on an 18-night repositioning cruise that includes the bucket list transit of the Panama Canal before arriving in Seattle.

MSC Poesia will depart each Monday between April 26, 2027, and September 28, 2027. She will sail a 7-night itinerary that will include Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, scenic sailing through Tracy Arm Fjord as well as Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Not only is Ketchikan dubbed the best fishing town in Alaska, but cruisers will also find here the most impressive display of authentic totem poles dating back to the 19th century. Icy Strait features brown bear viewing, whale watching, local cultural dancing and history, cooking classes, kayaking, and the largest zip line in the world. As cruisers sail through the Tracy Arm Fjord they will find cliffs more than 3,000 feet high, as they pass by glaciers, waterfalls, bears and a local seal colony. Exploration of Juneau, the capital of Alaska, includes panning for gold, breathtaking views and historic landmarks. In Victoria, British Columbia, passengers can visit the city’s Parliament Building and the Empress Hotel. Wildlife enthusiasts will want to take advantage of potting whales, porpoises, sea lions, seals and birds.

There are still a few cabins open for MSC Cruises’ summer 2026 Alaska season as well as the now available 2027 Alaska season.
