MSC Cruises’ MSC Poesia has a new Alaska-inspired food and beverage menu for its inaugural season in the Last Frontier.
In May, the Musica-class ship will begin sailing 7-night roundtrip itineraries from Seattle with a specialized menu focusing on locally-sourced seafood. Menu items will include halibut tacos with tangy lime cabbage slaw, Alaskan amber-battered cod, a selection of seafood chowders, and locally-sourced salmon.
Neil Palomba, EVP, Operations, MSC Cruises USA, said, “Our inaugural season in Alaska represents an exciting milestone for MSC Cruises, and enhancing the onboard dining and beverage experience to reflect the destination was a key priority for us. We’re bringing our mix of European style and American comfort to MSC Poesia, giving our guests a chance to enjoy everything from the perfect cup of hot chocolate as they sail past stunning glaciers, to a taste of Alaska’s trademark seafood after an exhilarating day of exploring on shore. Our goal is for the culinary experience to match Alaska’s natural charm.”
With scenic sailing a highlight of an Alaska cruise, guests can sip a complimentary cup of hot chocolate while soaking in the scenery. MSC Cruises will also introduce a series of new drinks to enhance the glacier viewing experience. Guests can enjoy spiked hot chocolate, hot cocktails and Alaska-themed drinks like a Hot Honey Soother, an Un-Wined in Juneau, a Hug in a Mug Toddy, a Bring the Heat Martinin, a Lox & Loaded Martini, or a Fjord the Love of Bubbly. Additionally, the Mojito Bar will host a Bloody Mary experience.
MSC Poesia is currently in dry dock at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta receiving expanded dining options including Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar. She is also receiving the cruise line’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept, the MSC Yacht Club, as well as a new MSC Aurea Spa, MSC Gym, and more.
Beginning May 2026, MSC Poesia will sail 7-night Alaska itineraries from Seattle to some of the region’s most iconic destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, scenic cruising in Tracy Arm, and more.
