MSC Cruises Introduces Open Booking

MSC Cruises has introduced a new “Open Booking” program. The program permits guests to make a future cruise reservation during their current sailing without knowing which ship, itinerary, or date they plan to cruise.

Guests can pay a reduced deposit of $100 per person and receive a document that states they have 12 months to choose their next cruise. If guests make the decision within 60 days, they also will receive up to $200 in onboard credit per cabin. Up to the one year mark, guests still receive up to $100 in onboard credit. Additionally, the booking can be gifted to a family member or friend giving them the option to choose the date that works best for them.

Koreen McNutt, SVP of Sales & Trade Engagement and Commercial Sales Officer, MSC Cruises USA, said, “We want to offer our guests more flexibility in choosing their next ship and sailing date, and the Open Booking program gives guests onboard up to a year to make that decision while earning future credit for their next vacation at sea.”

Guests who make the most of this open booking program will also have the advantage of an extended “best price guarantee” timeframe, more flexibility in choosing a sailing date before their final payment is due, and a better selection of cabins and suites. Members of MSC’s loyalty program, MSC Voyagers Club, who book while onboard will earn double points and can stack their booking discount with other offers.

Currently, MSC Cruises has more than 200 itineraries that sail out of three US cruise ports. MSC Seashore sails from Port Canaveral, Florida, MSC Meraviglia sails from New York City, and MSC Divina, MSC Magnifica, MSC Seascape, MSC World America, and MSC Seaside all sail from PortMiami, Florida. In the fall of 2025, the cruise line will reposition MSC Seascape to  sail from Galveston, Texas.
