Miami’s Newest Megaship Features Cliffhanger Ride

MSC Cruises unveiled a first-of-its-kind thrill ride debuting exclusively aboard MSC World America when the ship enters service in April 2025. The state-of-the-art attraction, Cliffhanger, found in the center of the ship’s Family Aventura district will tower above the flagship’s top deck.

Cliffhanger will lift its four passengers from the deck to their starting position which is out over the edge of the ship. Riders will swing back and forth 160 feet over the ocean experiencing an exceptional view and an unforgettable thrill.

MSC World America is anticipated to debut on April 9, 2025 when she is named at PortMiami. She will offer Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries and visit MSC Cruises’ private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, with each cruise.

Guests will experience seven distinct districts onboard MSC World America. Each district features its own atmosphere and experiences including dining, attractions and entertainment. The districts are designed so every guest, no matter their age, can choose their own vacation adventure.

MSC World America is the second of MSC Cruises’ World-class ship. Sister ships MSC World America and MSC World Europa are powered by liquified natural gas (LNG) and are designed to reduce the impact on the environment. They are equipped with shore power connectivity, allowing the ship’s engines to be turned off in port which reduces emissions, and smart technology, ensuring guests travel in comfort yet keep energy and water use low. Even the propellers are designed to be environmentally friendly.

Currently under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France, MSC World America will span 22 decks, measure more than 150 feet wide, offer more than 420,000 square feet of public space and be able to welcome 6,762 guests when she sets sail.

While Cliffhanger is sure to be the most thrilling attraction onboard MSC World America, the ship will also offer bumper cars, a roller rink, an 11-deck-high dry slide, and a ropes course. Additionally, the ship will include six pools, 14 hot tubs, and an expansive water park with water slides including a VR experience.
