In 2024, Holland America is featuring 29 voyages for its Canada & New England Discovery Series. All 29 cruises will begin or end in Boston.
Holland America is deploying two ships to the region, Volundam and Zuiderdam, from April through October. Cruises include close-to-home weekend getaways to in depth voyages. One expedition is a round trip itinerary that leaves from Boston and sails to Greenland and circumnavigates Iceland.
“A Canada and New England cruise has it all for travelers looking to stay closer to home but experience a taste of Europe, beautiful scenery, amazing food, natural beauty and incredible history,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer. “Our expanded season allows travelers to explore the region from spring through autumn, including the popular fall foliage, and by offering longer cruises we can extend up to Greenland and Iceland for a truly unique vacation.”
The Volendam will be sailing 7-day Canada & New England Discovery cruises from Boston to Montreal. She will also sail 7-day round trip Historic Cruises from Boston with stops in Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and Halifax and Sydney. Volendam will also offer 10-day Newfoundland & New England Discovery cruises from Boston to Montreal.
Holland America is also adding Greenland and Iceland onto their itineraries with one 24-day expedition that departs Boston on July 27 and will circumnavigate Iceland. She will call on destinations in Iceland, Greenland, Maine, Nova Scotia, Labrador and Newfoundland.
Beginning in August, Zuiderdam will sail 7-day Canada & New England Discovery Cruises from Boston to Quebec with ports in Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax.
Both the Volendam and Zuiderdam will offer cruises in the fall so guests can see the beauty of the changing foliage along the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Saguenay Fjord.
