Holland America Line Partners with The HISTORY Channel

Holland America Line has partnered with A+E’s The HISTORY Channel for a “first-of-its-kind collaboration” which gives guests the opportunity to learn about the history of their destination as well as experience it. This collaboration will “transport guests to ancient ruins and legendary landmarks” allowing guests to explore the past and learn the stories of other civilizations.

“With us, history isn’t just told, it is experienced,” said Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer for Holland America Line. “As two iconic brands rooted in storytelling, we are uniquely positioned to bring history to life through custom itineraries and shore excursions. This partnership further differentiates our brand and allows us to deliver to our guests experiences that are too good to hurry through.”

Holland America Line and The HISTORY Channel are curating several worldwide itineraries to destinations with deep historical significance. Some of those voyages include the 14-Day Arctic Journey & Northern Lights, the 7-Day Mediterranean Marvels of Pompeii, and the 7-day Norwegian Fjords, all of which have been curated to highlight the history of the region.

Holland America Line will announce additional themed cruises which will include the eastern Mediterranean, northern Europe, and the Arctic. These cruises will highlight the history of ancient empires, Viking heritage and polar exploration.

The shore excursions created in partnership with The HISTORY Channel are in addition to the thousand of shore excursions already offered by Holland America Line. This new collaboration will offer more experiences which focus on the history and culture of the destination. Guests will be able to enjoy shore excursions like Gold Panning & Underground Mine Exploration for a hands-on Gold Rush era experience; Giza Pyramids, Sphinx & the Pyramid of Sakkara which takes guests to the heart of ancient Egypt; or Stavanger Old & New to experience more of Norway’s Viking and maritime history.

“We are thrilled to join with Holland America Line on this groundbreaking, long-term partnership, to have the opportunity to bring the power of The HISTORY Channel brand as a whole new dimension to the cruising experience,” said David DeSocio, executive vice president, ad sales partnerships, A+E/The HISTORY Channel. “Through our unique storytelling and new curated itineraries, The HISTORY Channel is excited to help enable Holland America Line customers to further explore and understand the past, present and future significance of these beautiful and historic destinations.

More itineraries, excursions and details will be released in the coming months, but guests can begin booking these itineraries and shore excursions now.
