Holland America Line has launched the first-ever at-sea lipstick blending bar. Blend Bar is a fun new onboard experience allowing guests to create and take home a signature lipstick or gloss. Guests receive assistance from a professional beauty consultant to create a wearable souvenir that is uniquely theirs.
The Blend Bar offers more than 30 premium pigments, four luxurious finishes, and more than 20 signature flavors to create their custom shade. The experience is available to individuals and groups of all ages. The fun activity is currently available on Nieuw Statendam, Eurodam, Westerdam, Oosterdam, Zuiderdam, Volendam, and Zaandam, with the experience available on the remainder of the fleet by mid-November.
“Today’s travelers are looking for more than just a vacation — they want exclusive experiences like Blend Bar that feel personal, immersive and meaningful,” said Carole Biencourt, vice president of onboard revenue for Holland America Line. “We’re excited to launch the first lipstick blending bar at sea, where our beauty-loving guests can express themselves and create a unique souvenir of their time on board.”
Working with a beauty consultant, guests will be able to select their colors to create a signature shade. They can choose from one of four finishes: butter, crème, matte or gloss. Guests can then level up the experience by adding a flavor and effect like frost, shimmer or iridescence. The custom blend will be melted and poured into a lipstick or gloss tube and labeled with the guests’ custom name. Each guest will receive a formula card with the ingredients of their signature blend so they can recreate it in the future. This experience is so much more than a beauty product; it is a “one-of-a-kind beauty experience” that allows guests to take home a custom reminder of their cruise.
Holland America Line is committed to quality and safety, and the Blend Bar is no exception. Each product uses the highest-quality, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and vegan ingredients, which are free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and GMOs. Additionally, the pigments are full of antioxidants and SPF, offering protection from the sun.
The Blen Bar experience is $65 for a lipstick or liquid matte, and $60 for a tube of lip gloss.
