Holland America Line Collaborates with Bols for Exclusive Cocktails

Holland America Line is partnering with Bols to introduce exclusive Bols cocktails at the cruise line’s popular Orange Party, which is held once a cruise across the fleet. Bols is the world’s first cocktail brand, bringing 450 years of distilling and blending expertise established in Amsterdam in 1575.

Holland America Line’s Orange Party honors Koningsdag, also known as King’s Day which is celebrated annually in the Netherlands on April 27. Guests are invited to dress in orange and enjoy the Netherlands-themed party filled with music, dancing, and Dutch flair. Now, the elevated celebration will include signature cocktails from Bols highlighting Dutch flavors.

“Holland America Line and Bols are two brands deeply rooted in Dutch heritage with a shared commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and quality,” said Drew Foulk, director of food and beverage revenue and innovation at Holland America Line. “Collaborating with Bols for the Orange Party allows us to bring authentic Dutch flavors, creative mixology and immersive experiences to life, giving guests a celebration they’ll remember long after their cruise.”

The Orange Party will start with a specially crafted Bols cocktail in a traditional jenever glass garnished by stroopwafel and hagelslag. Guests can also purchase limited-edition Dutch collectibles, and take memorable photos.

“Bols has been part of Dutch culture for over four centuries, and we are thrilled to partner with Holland America Line, a time-honored brand that shares our Dutch roots and dedication to exceptional experiences,” said Quirijn de Koning, brand director at Bols. “Together, we are elevating the Orange Party with exclusive cocktails that are as fun and vibrant as the celebration itself.”

The collaboration with Bols is the most recent Dutch tradition Holland America Line is bringing to its guests. The cruise line also holds “Dutch Day,” which features traditional Dutch cuisine, special menus, and cultural sweet treats. Guests can also enjoy an afternoon Royal Dutch Tea on sea days. Additionally, since 1929, several members of the Dutch Royal Family have served as godparents for the cruise line’s ships. Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands is the recent godparent and named Rotterdam in 2022.
