Disney Adventure Receives Storybook Castle

Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure is now home to a storybook castle which stands three decks tall. The 186-foot castle was installed on the cruise line’s newest ship at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The first-of-its-kind art piece on Disney Adventure is located at “the creative heart” of the ship, the Disney Imagination Garden.

The castle resembles a paper cutout or pop-up storybook complete with a Disney family crest, which is found on every Disney castle. The design of the castle is inspired by the spirit of adventure and the sea and features rich blues, wave-like patterns and other details that create a celebration of water.

The castle also features intricate turrets and three stained-glass panels. In true Disney storytelling fashion, each stained-glass panel honors a Disney heroine. The panels each depict an element of nature: the water, sky and heart of Te Fiti from Moana; the sun, earth and the Sundrop flower from Tangled; and the ice and wind from Frozen

Additionally, there are several “Easter eggs” to be found within the design of the storybook castle. There are tributes to Disney traditions and history, a hidden Mickey, and a waterfall at the base of the castle which is reminiscent of the Walt Disney Pictures opening logo shown before every Disney movie.

Disney Adventure promises to be “both a journey and a destination” bringing to life Disney’s signature magic, storytelling, and adventure. Beside Imagination Garden, when guests board Disney Adventure they will find six more uniquely themed areas with incredible characters and memorable experiences.

When she debuts, Disney Adventure will be the largest vessel in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. She will sail her maiden voyage, a 4-night roundtrip voyage, from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singapore on March 5, 2026. She will then begin sailing 3- to 4-night “cruises to nowhere” for at least five years according to the cruise line’s agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board.
