Diamond Princess Receives Two Specialty Dining Venues

Princess Cruises recently announced it has added two specialty dining venues to Diamond Princess–Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill. The Japan-built Diamond Princess is currently sailing roundtrip from Singapore, offering immersive itineraries that explore Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam before returning to Japan.

Makoto Ocean, which first premiered onboard Sun Princess and Star Princess, features Chef Makoto Okuwa’s Edomae-style sushi. The restaurant is located on Deck 7 and offers multiple signature dishes like truffle salmon, snow crab temaki and toro tartare. Guests can pair the cuisine with handcrafted cocktails, including the Genmai Negroni and Kodai No Hana, which blends yuzu juice with Doburoku sake.

Crown Grill is the cruise line’s award-winning steakhouse, which has been a guest favorite since its debut. The restaurant is located in the former Savoy Dining Room on Deck 5. Dishes include premium aged beef, chops and fresh seafood.

Both venues are priced at $55 per person and are included with the Princess Premier package.

“With Makoto Ocean and Crown Grill now onboard Diamond Princess, and also recently added onboard sister ship Sapphire Princess, we’re proud to enhance the guest experience as Diamond Princess sails across Asia and as we look ahead to our dual-ship Japan season in 2027,” said Sami Kohen, Princess Cruises Vice President Food and Beverage.

Diamond Princess is the sister ship to Sapphire Princess. Both vessels were built in Japan, further solidifying Princess Cruises’ connection to the region. In a first for the cruise line, Princess Cruises will offer its most expansive Japan season in 2027. Both ships will sail from the Tokyo region for the entire season. The 2027 schedule is open now for booking and includes 78 departures across 50 unique itineraries ranging from seven to 28 days.
