Cruise Ship Monday-Royal Caribbean Voyager-Class

It’s Cruise Ship Monday!

Today brings us Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager Class–Voyager of the Seas (1999), Explorer of the Seas (2000), Adventure of the Seas (2001), Navigator of the Seas (2002) and Mariner of the Seas (2003).

The Voyager-class group of ships were the first Royal Caribbean vessels to have rock climbing walls and ice skating rinks. They were also the first to feature a Royal Promenade where passengers can have a drink, a snack, or shop. Additionally, they were also the first ships to carry more than 3,000 passengers–between 3,100 and 3,600 depending on the ship.

The Voyager-class ships have multiple dining venues, and bars & lounges. Each ship offers several complimentary dining venues including the Main Dining Room, Windjammer Cafe, Cafe Promenade, Sorrento’s Pizza and Dog House. The ship’s specialty restaurants include Chops Grille, Giovanni’s Table, Izumi, and room service is available 24/7. With the exception of Mariner of the Seas, each ship also features a Johnny Rockets, the popular 1950s-themed eatery. Bars & lounge venues include the Plaza Bar, Pool Bar, Schooner Bar, Sky Bar, and more. Mariner of the Seas features the Playmaker Sports Bar & Arcade

There are slight variations in attractions onboard the Voyager-class ships. While each of the ships have waterslides, Navigator of the Seas has a newer waterslide zone where passengers will find The Blaster–the longest waterslide at sea. All ships, except Adventure of the Seas are home to FlowRider surf simulators, while Adventure of the Seas is the only ship with Splashaway Bay–a kiddie splash zone. Adventure of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas also have the Perfect Storm duo of water slides. Three of the ships, Voyager of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas, have laser tag courses, and each ship houses a mini golf course.

Studio B, the ice skating rinks onboard the Voyager-class ships, is home to spectacular ice shows while each ship’s theater features a Broadway-style production. Passengers can relax in the spa, take part in classes in the fitness center or test the fates in the Casino Royale.

Voyager-class ships offer a variety of accommodations. Passengers can book interior, ocean view, balcony or promenade staterooms, which offer a view of the Royal Promenade. Suites include the Royal Suites and Royal Lofts.

Currently, Voyager of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas, are offering itineraries throughout Europe. Adventure of the Seas is sailing Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean itineraries out of Port Canaveral, Florida, while Mariner of the Seas is sailing Western Caribbean itineraries out of Galveston, Texas. Finally, Navigator of the Seas is offering sailings along the West Coast of the United States out of Los Angeles, California.
