Cruise Ship Monday–MSC World Class

It’s Cruise Ship Monday!

Today brings us MSC Cruises’ World Class–MSC World Europa (2022); MSC World America (2025); MSC World Asia (coming in 2026); MSC World Atlantic (coming in 2027), and two more unnamed ships planned for 2029 and 2030.

MSC Cruises’ and Chantiers de L’Atlantique partnered to bring a class of ultramodern ships featuring an “urban metropolis” setting a new standard in the cruising industry. The innovative World Class ships feature a futuristic silhouette, signature plumb bow and Y-shaped aft.

MSC World Europa and MSC World America are the two current World Class sister ships with the same basic design but with separate features matching their market and itineraries. MSC World Europa sails the Mediterranean and features a global village atmosphere, while MSC World America sails the Caribbean and is more Americanized.

MSC World Europa features a global dining experience focusing on European tastes. She showcases the World Galleria and the Mark Lounge. Her design emphasizes European culture with a global feel. Guests can choose from 13 dining venues which include six specialty restaurants. Her various bars and lounges offer everything from fresh juices to teas to cocktails.

MSC World America has been specifically designed for the American market. The onboard dining has been Americanized and features more grab-and-go casual options. The deck plan has been divided into seven districts–the adults-only Zen Area, the family-friendly Family Aventura; the water area Aqua Deck, the MSC Yacht Club, the Promenade, the Galleria which offers shopping, dining and bars, and The Terraces.

The entertainment on each ship is very different. MSC World Europa has a traditional main theater, the World Theater, offering world-class production shows. There is a two-level MSC Luna Park Arena that combines entertainment and a night club venue. Additionally, the Panorama Lounge features musical performances in the evenings.

MSC World America also has a main World Theater where guests can enjoy Dirty Dancing in Concert. The Panorama Lounge features Queen Symphonic, celebrating Queen’s greatest hits. The Luna Park Arena again combines entertainment and a night club venue.

Both ships feature multiple pools and hot tubs offering ocean views and lounge areas. Pools include an indoor pool with a retractable roof, an adults-only pool as well as one pool deck that is exclusive to MSC Yacht Club guests. Each ship features a water park complete with waterslides, and an 11-deck dry slide.

Children will enjoy Doremiland, a space with areas dedicated to various age groups with LEGO sets, VR games and more to entertain. Guests will also enjoy the MSC Sportplex with its bumper cars, zorb ball and Drone Academy.

MSC World Europa is currently offering 7-day roundtrip Mediterranean voyages, while MSC World America is offering 7- or 14-day voyages from PortMiami throughout the Caribbean that feature the cruise line’s private island, MSC Ocean Cay.

Our own Tony was recently on the MSC World America and filmed this ship tour you will want to watch.
