Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest.
Let’s dive in!
This Monday, we explored MSC Cruises’ Lirica-class–MSC Armonia (2001), MSC Sinfonia (2002), MSC Lirica (2003), and MSC Opera (2004). Which have you been on?
This past week, Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure departed the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany for her sea trials. She will sail her maiden voyage from Singapore in December. Her 3-, 4-, and 5-night “cruises to nowhere” will allow her passengers to experience all the magic the ship has to offer.
Wednesday, we took a look at the newbuilds that have debuted and those that are still on the way. We have seen the debut of MSC Cruises’ World America, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Aqua, Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas, and now, Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady. Still to come are Princess Cruises’ Star Princess, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Xcel, and Disney Cruise LIne’s Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure.
Celebrity Cruises opened Priority Booking Access for the 2027 sailings on Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker–two of the ten transformative ships that will be Celebrity River Cruises. Interested cruisers were able to make a fully refundable $500 deposit to claim a stateroom on one of these ships. However, they were completely filled within 6 minutes. Keep your eyes open for more river cruising–The Celebrity Way.
Carnival Cruise Line released a new non-alcoholic drink package, while Princess Cruises was reducing its cash back rebate bonus on its MedallionPay Shoreside Shop and Sail program.
If you enjoy spooky season cruising, multiple cruise lines are offering Halloween-themed sailings. Everything from costume contests to horror movies to trick-or-treating will be onboard one of your favorite cruise lines.
