Cruise News Digest–September 21, 2025

Let’s dive in!

This Monday, we explored MSC Cruises’ Fantasia -classMSC Fantasia (2008), MSC Splendida (2009), MSC Divina (2012), and MSC Preziosa (2013). Which have you been on?

Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean international both announced they were implementing a no-show specialty dining fee. This is not unusual, as the major cruise lines have a similar policy for those who fail to show up for their reservation.

MSC Cruises’ MSC Seascape will begin sailing 7-night Western Caribbean itineraries from the Port of Galveston in November. The cruise line also announced guests can look forward to new Texas-inspired entertainment when she begins her winter season.

Carnival Cruise Line announced changes to its new Carnival Rewards program that will debut in 2026. The cruise line listened to some of the biggest complaints from its most loyal cruisers and is making changes accordingly. Tony also addressed this on The Cruise Show.

Carnival Cruise Line also announced some more of its 2027-2028 deployments and itineraries. Carnival Legend will sail the cruise line’s first-ever series of itineraries to Hawaii from Long Beach, California, Carnival Freedom will reposition to Norfolk, and Carnival Pride will remain in Baltimore.

Royal Caribbean International announced its third-class Icon ship, Legend of the Seas, will debut three weeks earlier than expected. The cruise line added three new sailings, departing on July 11, 18, and 25, 2026. Guests booked on the August 2 inaugural sailing have been given the option to move their reservation to July 11, 2026.
