Celebrity River Cruises has revealed a destination discovery program featuring four different experiences intended to connect its guests to the local culture in an unforgettable way. The program included the Storyteller Series, the Skillmaster Series, the Keys to the City Series, and the Celebrity Takeover Series.
“On a Celebrity River Cruises vacation, no two days are the same because no two places are. We’ve built a destination program that connects guests to Europe more personally than anything the river cruise industry has offered before,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. “With our groundbreaking destination discovery options, paired with thoughtfully crafted spaces onboard that inspire relaxation and connection, Celebrity River Cruises guests will return home with stories no one else can tell.”
The Storyteller Series will be guided by local residents, artists and cultural insiders. There will be various experiences to choose from per port that balance iconic landmarks with the guides’ personal favorites.
The Skillmaster Series features locally led hands-on experiences allowing guests to craft, cook and create. Aspiring cooks will be led by a local mamika (grandmother) in Budapest, while a local artist will lead a Van Gogh painting class in Amsterdam.
During the Keys to the City Series, guests will be able to explore ports independently based on their own interest. Through a digital platform, guests can follow along a curated route tailored to their specific art, history, food, and architecture interests. Local hosts will provide behind-the-scenes access and experiences along the way.
Finally, the Takeover Series is an exclusive, bespoke experience offered once per sailing. European attractions will be transformed into private events available only to Celebrity River Cruises guests.
The series are available with all 2027-28 Celebrity River Cruises itineraries. Guests are able to extend their experience with pre- and post-cruise stays in Prague, Budapest beginning in 2027, as well as Amsterdam in 2028.
