Carnival Splendor Returning Down Under

Carnival Splendor is on her way home Down Under after completing an extensive dry dock in Singapore during most of August 2024. She will return to Sydney Harbor on September 9 with the trademark red, white, and blue hull design of Carnival’s fleet. She also features special hull art–a Southern Cross motif–which is a signature element of P&O Cruises Australia that will soon become part of the Carnival fleet.

Carnival Splendor’s new dining options include Mad Sizzle on Deck 9. It is a quick-serve venue that offers kebab and status with slow spit-roasted meats. Indian restaurant Masala Tiger has been moved to Deck 10. Guests will find a new a la carte dinner option in addition to its popular lunch menu. Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse offers an enhanced menu which includes its signature dishes as well as fresh, local cuisine when it’s available.

The updated staterooms include refurbished balconies and whirlpool tubs installed in suites. Fitness fans will enjoy the updated basketball court and jogging track, new gym equipment and the refreshed Thalassotherapy pool at Cloud 9 spa. The casino and retail shops have been updated and refreshed while the Dreams Photo studio has been enhanced and relocated to Deck 3.

Families will enjoy the refreshed mini-golf course and the updated Carnival WaterWorks waterpark. The kid’s clubs, Camp Ocean and Club O2, have new activities and a new video gaming area. Families will also enjoy the cruise line’s latest Playlist Production, “Dear Future Husband.” The production is an interactive pop musical which follows a bride and groom onboard a Carnival cruise ship.

“From her beautiful new look outside to the upgraded amenities and new entertainment on board, Carnival Splendor has more fun to offer our guests sailing from Sydney than ever before,” said Kara Glamore, Carnival Cruise Line Australia vice president. “Carnival is set to be Australia’s largest cruise brand from early next year and we’re proud to continue to provide new ways to bring more fun to our guests.”

In March 2025, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa will be joined by Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure when the two P&O Cruises Australia ships join Carnival Cruise Line. When they become Carnival sister ships they will be renamed Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter.
