The wait is over! It’s time to celebrate! Carnival Cruise Line has announced the name of its new destination in the Bahamas—Celebration Key!
Celebration Key is the first destination that is exclusive to Carnival Cruise Line and will begin welcoming its first guests July 2025. It was named with the idea that the destination will celebrate all that Carnival and The Bahamas have to offer.
In May 2022, a groundbreaking ceremony for the destination took place and work is currently underway. Once completed, it will be able to welcome up to 2 million guests per year.
“We are working very closely with the Government of The Bahamas and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to ensure that we are highlighting the best of Grand Bahama and its culture, combined with fun like only Carnival can provide,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. “Invoking the natural beauty of Grand Bahama, every day at Celebration Key will be a celebration of our guests’ own making with a variety of experiences and something for everyone.”
Located in Grand Bahama, a northern island of The Bahamas known for its beautiful beaches, abundant vegetation, scenic views, and friendly people, Celebration Key will offer a unique experience of Bahamian culture. Some of that experience will include a mile stretch of a white-sand beach, Bahamian shopping, dining and drinking exclusively for Carnival’s guests.
With the adjacent cruise pier able to dock two Carnival Excel-class ships at a time, guests will be able to walk off the ship and arrive at Celebration Key. This allows for the maximum amount of time and fun at the destination.
Carnival has stated in late September they will announce more details surrounding Celebration Key as well as open for booking itineraries on at least ten ships from multiple homeports that will visit the destination.
