Carnival Cruise Line Announces Godmother of Carnival Jubilee

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that Grammy Award winner, Gwen Stefani will be the godmother of Carnival’s latest flagship, Carnival Jubilee, at her naming ceremony in Galveston, Texas on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Gwen Stefani is a three-time Grammy Award winner who has achieved global success as a songwriter, performer, frontwoman of No Doubt, and solo artist. The music and fashion icon, who has sold more than 60 million units worldwide, has won four MTV Music Video Awards, two Billboard Awards, an American Music Award, and a Brit Award. Stefani is also known for her philanthropic work and support of children’s causes.

Stefani said, “I am honored to be the godmother of the new Carnival Jubilee. Carnival is taking it to the next level of fun while being committed to children’s causes and supporting our military families and veterans.”

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said of the decision, “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Gwen Stefani onto Carnival Jubilee so we can honor her as the ship’s godmother. She has demonstrated her commitment to our Carnival values, including promoting diversity and inclusion, supporting charitable causes, being a leader in her field, and of course, having fun.  We are going to show her an enthusiastic welcome in only the way Carnival can when she joins us on February 24.”

Carnival Jubilee’s naming ceremony will be held onboard the ship and is exclusive to invited guests and family. Part of the ceremony will be broadcast live on Carnival’s Facebook page at 3:30 CST on February 24, 2024. 

Entering service on December 23, 2023, Carnival Jubilee is the third of Carnival’s Excel class and is powered by liquified natural gas. She can sail 6,500 guests and 1,750 crew. She is homeported year-round from the Port of Galveston and sails 7-night Western Caribbean cruises with ports of call in Roatan, Honduras, and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.
