Carnival Corporation & plc Unveils New Destination

Carnival Corporation & plc, in collaboration with ITM Group and Hutchison Ports ECV, revealed plans for Ensenada Bay Village, a new shoreside destination that will celebrate the culture, beauty and traditions of Baja California, Mexico.

The formal presentation of the new project was held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Ensenada Cruise Terminal. In attendance were federal, state and local officials, business partners, and representatives from each organization.

“Ensenada Bay Village represents meaningful investment in Baja California. This project supports local jobs, expands tourism, and highlights the culture and natural beauty that make our state a unique destination,” said Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, governor of Baja California.

The project will be an investment of more than $26 million and a shared commitment by all partners to enhance and expand Ensenada’s visitor experience. The new destination will be designed to complement the existing port drawing from 18th-century California architecture and celebrating Baja’s coastal identity.

The new destination will offer zip lines, river rides, a scenic boat ride, and the signature Dune Rally. Guests will enjoy culinary delights of the region including chocolate and tequila tastings, and Valle de Guadalupe wine and cheese pairings. Also included will be artisan crafts, relaxation and wellness experiences, and an adult pool space called Baby Beach.

Upon completion Ensenada Bay Village is expected to welcome up to 9,000 visitors per day. The project will create hundreds of local jobs as well as new opportunities for artisans, vendors and tour operators. The destination will be open to guests from all cruise lines which will further strengthen Baja California’s cruise tourism economy. Construction is expected to last about 2 years.

“This presentation reflects our shared vision to create destinations that inspire pride and prosperity,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Together with our partners — ITM Group and Hutchison Ports ECV — we are proud to highlight a project that celebrates Baja’s culture, supports the local community, and offers guests family-friendly, authentic, and memorable experiences.”

The presentation included local performances which reflected Mexico’s heritage and hospitality. Following the presentation, guests attended a luncheon on board Carnival Panorama.
