Cruise News Digest–July 5, 2026

Welcome to the weekly Cruise News Digest.

Let’s dive in!

We began with top destinations in Alaska, moved to top spots in the Eastern, Southern, and Western Caribbean, and traveled this week through top destinations in New England and Canada.  The perfect blend of scenic coastline, colonial history, and local cuisine. Which destinations are your favorites or on your bucket list?

Royal Caribbean’s newest Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas, arrived at the port of Malaga, Spain, in the Western Mediterranean on Monday, June 29, 2026, and sailed a 4-day preview cruise that hosted delegates from the Middle East, international partners, and media. She embarked on her inaugural voyage yesterday, July 4, 2026, from Civitavecchia-Rome, Italy, and will be making calls in Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and La Spezia. She is the first Icon-class ship offering voyages in Europe.

Royal Caribbean has been partnered with Make-A-Wish for several years, helping children with critical illnesses create life-changing memories through its “Wishes at Sea” program. This year, the cruise line expanded its program by partnering with Make-A-Wish Shanghai. The first wish was fulfilled in June when 13-year-old Xiao Ze became the first recipient of a 3-night voyage aboard Spectrum of the Seas.

Did you see the big news? In May 2027, we’ll be traveling to Tuscany, Italy, where we’ll unpack once at a single hotel and spend our days exploring the region together with guided excursions to places like Florence, Pisa, Lucca, and San Gimignano, along with incredible food, wine, and plenty of time to experience Tuscany at a relaxed pace. The tour follows Collette’s popular “Spotlight on Tuscany” style, allowing us to stay in one location while exploring the surrounding region each day.

With only 40 spots available, you will want to reserve your spot. You can learn more about the Tuscany Land Cruise and reserve your spot by clicking the link. Spotlight on Tuscany
