Just six months ago, MSC Cruises began sailing year-round from Galveston, Texas. MSC Seascape arrived at Cruise Terminal 16 in November 2025, a terminal that had undergone a major renovation allowing it to handle larger ships and more passengers.
Since that time, MSC Seascape has offered a new cruise option, blending European style with American comfort, while tailoring many onboard experiences, including dining and entertainment, to the Texas market.
Lynn Torrent, President, MSC Cruises North America, said, “In our first six months of operations, we are seeing strong momentum and clear validation of our approach to the Galveston market. Guests are responding exceptionally well to the Texas-inspired dining, entertainment and MSC Yacht Club experience aboard MSC Seascape, and we are hearing positive feedback from our partners. By continuing to listen to our guests and evolve the onboard experience, MSC Seascape offers something new for travelers in the region to discover just in time for summer.”
As guests board MSC Seascape, they are greeted by various Texas-inspired offerings developed specifically for the region. Those offerings include Southern, Texan and Gulf Coast dining, regional beverages at bars and lounges, a resident country music band, line dancing classes and a Big Texas Sailaway Party.
Rodger Rees, Galveston Wharves port director and CEO, said, “As we mark this six-month milestone, we couldn’t be more pleased with MSC Cruises and our new terminal. This world-renowned cruise line has proven to be a great port partner every step of the way, from terminal design to daily operations. Based on passenger counts and feedback from cruise customers, I’d say that Texans love the Texas-themed MSC Seascape and our new cruise terminal.”
According to Rees, Cruise Terminal 16 was designed with the passenger in mind and has been praised for its state-of-the-art design, layout and onsite parking garage making for a seamless and efficient embarkation “just minutes after they arrive at the terminal.”
Sailing year-round from Galveston, MSC Seaside offers 7-night roundtrip Western Caribbean voyages which embark every Sunday. The itinerary includes ports of call in Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Isla de Roatan, Honduras.
