Star Princess Kicks Off Alaska Season From Seattle

Princess Cruise’s Star Princess arrived at the Port of Seattle for the very first time for her highly anticipated inaugural season in Alaska. She will sail 20 weekly roundtrip voyages from Pier 91 exploring Alaska’s Inside Passage through mid-September.

The arrival of the Sphere-class ship was celebrated with the traditional maritime plaque exchange between the Port of Seattle, Captain Gennaro Arma, Princess Cruises President Gus Antorcha and representatives from various local partners. The exchange followed a “one-night-only” drone show which was on display in downtown Seattle on May 1, 2026, officially announcing the arrival of Star Princess.

“It’s especially meaningful for the officers and crew of Star Princess to be here in Seattle, a port with a proud maritime heritage and long-standing connection to Alaska,” said Princess Cruises Captain, Gennaro Arma. “Designed for these journeys, Star Princess brings together advanced technology, comfort, and elegance as we continue Princess Cruises’ legacy in Alaska. We’re grateful to the Port of Seattle and our port partners for their warm welcome and continued collaboration.”

The 4,300-passenger vessel will sail 7-day roundtrip cruises from Seattle visiting Ketchikan, Tracy Arm Fjord, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada before returning to Seattle. Guests will enjoy breathtaking views of Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. Star Princess will be joined by Royal Princess for the 2026 and 2027 season.

Princess Cruises, the number one cruise line in Alaska, is set to sail its largest Alaska season ever with eight ships– Star Princess, Royal Princess, Discovery Princess, Ruby Princess, Emerald Princess, Grand Princess, Coral Princess, and Island Princess–embarking on 180 departures and visiting 19 destinations. Guests may also choose to pair their cruise with a land tour that has its own custom itineraries one of which visit four national parks on a single tour.

All eight ships will feature Princess’ award-winning North to Alaska programming which features local lumberjacks, Iditarod champions and storytellers. Additionally, guests will enjoy fresh Alaska seafood menus, shore excursions and authentic commentary by Glacier Bay Park Rangers and Naturalists.
