Royal Caribbean has revealed new features for its fourth Icon Class ship–Hero of the Seas–which is scheduled to arrive at PortMiami in August 2027.
Within the ship’s eight neighborhoods, guests will find the most pools at sea, the most dining options at sea, brand-new family raft slides, cooking classes, a three-story Ultimate Family Tree House and more.
“Icon Class truly set a new standard for family vacations, and Hero of the Seas takes that vision even further,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “With more water, more thrills and more choices for all ages, we’re continuing to build on what our guests love about Royal Caribbean and delivering the experiences families are looking for when vacationing together.”
Hero of the Seas is making a splash with nine pools which includes a new Caribbean-inspired pool, Coconut Cove; three adults-only pool options; the largest swim-up bars at sea; and familiar favorites like Splashaway Bay. Coconut Cove, the new Caribbean-inspired pool, will be adjacent to the Lime and Coconut Bar and offer in-water loungers, poolside service, and stunning views of Central Park.
Guests looking for thrills will enjoy the largest waterpark at sea–Catelgory 6–which will offer two new family raft slides, including the first-ever funnel raft slide at sea. Guests will also find Crown’s Edge, part skywalk, part zip line, all 154 feet above the ocean, the Flowrider surf simulator, the Adrenaline Peak rock-climbing wall, a sports court, and more.
Hero of the Seas will feature the most eateries in the fleet–28 venues in all. The Orleans Parish Supper Club will feature gourmet Cajun and Creole dishes as inspired by the French Quarter. The Royal Railway-Hero Station will transport guests on the most immersive dining adventure at sea. Chefs, or those who aspire to be chefs, will enjoy the hand-on cooking class in a still-to-be revealed venue within the Surfside neighborhood. Of course, guests will find familiar favorites like Izumi, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Chops Grille, Hooked Seafood, and more.
Hero of the Seas will offer some of the most amazing accommodations to its 7,600 guests. Choices will include the Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-deck treehouse with a private whirlpool and rooftop terrace; a three-level Ultimate Family Townhouse offering direct access to Surfside; and multiple types of suites.
When she debuts,Hero of the Seas will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, all of which will call on Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas. Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members can begin booking their Hero vacation on Wednesday, April 1, with the official opening to the public coming on Thursday, April 2.
