Disney Cruise Line released a brand-new video ad during the Academy Awards this year that has everyone talking.
The 90-second cinematic ad entitled “Where Magic Meets the Sea,” focuses on the familial relationships and memories created on a Disney Cruise Line cruise. The “Midnight Magic” campaign follows a father and son who have created a “quiet little ritual” walking along the decks of a Disney ship well after most have gone to bed. Their relationship is followed through the decades beginning with the son taking his first steps, through childhood, the teenage years and then as he becomes a father himself as they still take that same nighttime stroll.
“Disney has brought families closer together for generations,” said Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “This campaign embodies what guests tell us time and again: that the Disney experiences they cherish most are the ones spent with the people they love. We’re grateful to make that kind of Disney magic a reality.”
The short film utilizes Disney storytelling to convey how “Disney creates moments of real connection.” That idea that connection is not only found in the big Disney moments, but also in the quiet moments shared by a family–in this case, a nighttime stroll on a Disney Cruise Line ship–came directly from longtime fans and repeat guests of the cruise line.
Disney Cruise Line continues to solidify its position as a leader in the cruise market as it continues to grow. Disney Destiny recently debuted from Fort Lauderdale, Disney Adventure began sailing in Singapore as the cruise line’s first ship in Asia, and the cruise line has five new ships planned by 2031, which will bring the fleet to 13 ships worldwide.
