Cruise Ship Monday–Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Class

It’s Monday!

Cruise Ship Monday

Today brings us Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Class– Celebrity Edge (2018), Celebrity Apex (2021), Celebrity Beyond (2022), Celebrity Ascent (2023), Celebrity Xcel (2025), and one ship planned for 2028, Celebrity Xcite.

The Edge Class ships are the largest, and most advanced vessels in the Celebrity Cruises’ fleet offering an unrivaled luxurious experience of sophistication and elegance. The first two ships in the series, Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, weigh in at 130,818 gross tons, however the following ships had their hulls extended by 66 feet, which increased their weight to just over 141,000 gross tons. The vessels can carry up to 3,260 passengers at double occupancy.

In an industry first, the ships offer Infinite Veranda cabins which feature “outward-facing” glass walls. These cabins blur the line between indoor and outdoor living allowing guests to create a balcony with just the touch of a button. The concept provides more space and gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the ocean from their cabin.

The Edge Class ships also feature the Magic Carpet–the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform. The Magic Carpet is the size of a tennis court, scales the side of the ship, and serves multiple functions. It can be used for anything from a specialty restaurant to a launch area for tender boats. Offering a spectacular view of the ocean, the Magic Carpet is a luxurious experience guests will not soon forget.

Another innovative feature guests will find onboard is Eden–a multi-level, glass enclosed space combining nature, entertainment, dining, and a panoramic view of the ocean. During the day, Eden offers a tranquil spot to relax, while in the evening, the venue becomes a culinary experience featuring extraordinary entertainment.

Edge Class ships also offer The Retreat, an exclusive suite class experience. Guests will enjoy premium amenities, including a private restaurant Luminae, a sundeck, a lounge, and dedicated butler service. The most luxurious suites onboard are the Iconic Suites. With the floor-to-ceiling windows, they offer a stunning ocean view from above the captain’s bridge. The 2,500 square feet of living space offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a private terrace with a hot tub and a walk-in closet.

The culinary offerings aboard the Edge Class ships are crafted by world-renowned chefs using the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients. The vessel’s specialty dining options include French cuisine at Le Petit Chef, Asian cuisine at Silk Harvest, steak and shrimp at Fine Cut Steakhouse, and more. Each ship also offers multiple complimentary dining options each with their own unique menu.

From the state-of-the-art fitness center to the spa sanctuary, Edge Class ships feature various amenities designed to promote the well-being of its guests. The Spa is a wellness experience offering traditional and modern therapies. Guests will find therapeutic steam rooms, aromatherapy-infused saunas, a salt therapy room as well as a SEA Thermal Suite. Guests looking to stay active while onboard will find everything from yoga and Pilates classes to spinning and HIIT classes. The fitness facilities onboard feature a gym with a panoramic view of the ocean, an outdoor jogging track, and a wellness lounge.
